Anyone got advice or experience of straightening out panels... rear tub is the worst, I guess reversing trailer accidents! I’m going to replace the rear surrounds... but wondered if there are any tips to straighten them out...

also have push dents on the doors... where someone has pushed in the middle to close.

They are surprisingly ok, it very much surface and paint flake. The metal underneath is very stable.
id bet if you painted them it would soon bubble off,but a flat surface on the back and a hammer would straighten them reasonably as ali will be stretched, but would need filler to be perfect, youd need a shrinking hammer and dolly plus skill,to make a pro job

But yes, as James said, if you want them straight, replace them, if you dont, use a proper hammers and dollys, neither of which are cheap. And when you go straightening the panels the paint will fall off.

I’ll keep you posted when I get it striped down.

You might want to find out whats causing the rot, when aluminium rots like that it cant really be fixed, you can remove it but it will come back. You need to look for steel coming into contact with it but aluminium rots for a lot of reasons. Have a Google, its not like metal rusting.

Just out of curiosity, are you rebuilding that tub? I noticed its not actually attached to a vehicle! Whats the rest of it like?

Sorry, should have mentioned, I’m
Doing a full re chassis and rebuild. So everything is off. Underside is solid. Some galvanic corrosion where the seat box and out rigger were, all internal so going to replace with yrm repair panels. Underside seems pretty good.

Just been out and quickly knocked them back with a wire cup - few photos. There a hole, but it looks like a puncture or torn spot weld. And a little corision on the bottom folded edge. The rest is just lightly pitted. In my search for this Landy I saw quiet a few of this age with similar bubbling... think it might have been a production issue?

also a few of the underside... not great angles as it’s in the floor, but overall pretty good
