Rear Tailgate fault

HI guys hope you can help, iv got a 99 softop freelander and the other day i noticed that the rear window was down (though i dont remember puttin it down) so when i hit the switch in the cab to put it up nothing happened and it is now stuck down! i think it may be the ccu but worried that if i disconnect the bat sumthing else will go wrong... any ideas how i can get it workin again??
