I have replaced the steering box on my Discovery 2 TD5 today, and after releasing the front back down i now cannot get the suspension to work, that includes no pump noise or pressure into the rear, i have checked all the connections and relays but it is sitting rock solid on the ground, it used to work fine until this morning after i had it on the jacks, am i missing something???

Any suggestions

Was it sitting properly before jacking?
Am I understanding this, in that whilst up on a jack, the system lost all air and is now sitting on the bump stops and not inflating?

yes thats correct, sat at the right height and jacked up from the front, seems to have dropped down over the course of the day onto the bump stops, just been out and tried again to no avail, i dont get the triple chiming sound when you first start and it is rock solid

Have you checked the under bonnet fuse?
Time to give @sierrafery a shout
When you say rock solid above what do you mean is rock solid?
I'll give anyone a shout ....lol the car is rock solid on its bump stops which i have never experienced before, i cant recall if i did check the fusebox, i will check it in the morning, if that fuse is okay then would there be any others? (my grammer & spelling is appalling)

Siera will pick up the thread as I've notified him in the post above.
I dont understand why it would drop to the bump stops so quickly
I had a problem with mine oce and jacked up the rear via the tow bar to take a bit of the strain and it fired from there.
Take it if you press the ORM switch it doesn't raise?

YHave heard of this before, iirc the person before jacked the rear end up so that it looked correct , then started the engine and it pimped itself up. On e released off the jacks all was goocheers

Many thanks bigeee, i am planning on jacking the rear up in the morning as you mentioned to see if it fires up, i pressed the raise button which initiates the yellow flashing raise button but no pump or raising...

Sometimes, if the suspension drops to the bump stops the signal from the ride height sensors might be too low for the ECU too act upon. I have heard of some people jacking the body up off the bump stops a short amount, then starting the engine and the pump then starting.
When you do start the engine, do so through an open window and take all the usual precautions, out of gear and handbrake on.

Well at least I'm not alone, Mrs Mustard has now put me under curfew for the night so i cant find out till the morning but it sounds plausible....(I'm just glad i didn't buy a car that was easy to fix or my life would be very boring)

I hope the jacking up thing will work though, if not we'll speak then, if you leave a door open and lock with fob can you hear the misslock audible warning?

Guys, Thanks you, thank you thank you....... tried the door lock missfire which worked correctly.... then chocked the front wheels and jacked it at the rear by half a foot, worked like a dream, tested the console button also to raise it further and watched in absolute pleasure as the trolley jack rolled away down the drive with the car climbing merrily...one happy owner....once again guys couldn't have done it without you all
