Hi everyone.

I want to install a rear work lamp type thing, switched on by the reverse light switch as the current one is **** poor and barely lights anything up.

I was going to ask if anyone could recommend a decent light-spreading, not too dear worklamp? I plan to get a gutter clip and put it on that, run a wire through a hole along the inside gutter, to the battery & relay etc. I plan to connect a wire from the relay to the reverse light wire near where it connects to the light, so it'll come on when i put it into reverse.

I've made a half decent job of wiring spotlights before so I pretty much know what I'm doing, but wonder what type of wire is best to use for each part?

thanks a lot if you can help, ive had a look at some other threads but none of them have very definitive answers

Dunno, dozens out there cheap enough, got mine from bolt on bits if I remember.

Wouldn't wire it to the reverse switch though as they're way brighter than standard reverse lamp and you risk dazzling other drivers without realising. Wire to a illuminated dash switch so you can choose when to use it.

i fitted some led ones, wired direct to the reverse with an override switch to turn them on when not in reverse on the dash, no relays etc as the supply is good for 63watts/5.25amps
