Putting on a +2 inch lift these past two days bit by bit has cropped up a few nasties...
First i started with the front passenger and i was told that the front were harder than the rear.
after managing the front passenger i said to myself, something along the lines on thats the hardest one done how hard can it be....
swallowing my words as i moved onto the drivers side, the bolts on the top and bottom of the shock were no longer 19mm and more like a 17 which i didnt have... so i found an old spanner that was something like 5/8 (dont ask im only 23 and have no idea what size that is lol..)
took the angle grinder to it and made it fit
after struggling away with that i started with the rears, passenger side really easy again... only hard part was removing the bottom nut from the shock, but being as i had new ones the angle grinder was a big help..
the drivers once again bit me in the ass, as soon as i removed the wheel i noticed that the upper spring mount is hanging off on one side and the upper shock mount was not a nut on a thread it is actually a bolt that bolts into the mount.
So after all that i ask these few questions:
Is it simple enough to grind off the upper shock mount and weld another one?
why does my 90 have different shocks/shock mounts per side?
Has one side been done before and the other standard?
Thanks again!!
