Well I got my new Disco today, a 2001 Es 7 seater with less than 100k on and it appears a solid chassis. Remarkable after some I saw.The drive home went well cruising at 70 on motorway and able to hear the radio which is very different to my defender.
Long term plan is remove centre box, remove egr and a remap and then see how we go.
One question though someone may be able to help with. One rear seat is fine (these are the seats in the boot) but cant seem to get the other backrest up. Its locked into the floor ok with a good shove but the lever at the side seems locked so I cant lift the backrest up. Is this common and is there a fix?

They can be awkward as the procedure to unlock them is not naturally intuitive.

Read the instructions again and practice. A bit of lubrication on the mechanism will help a lot.

Mine are a bit like that. Both were stuck down when I viewed the car before buying.

There is a bowden cable under the inboard side of the seat that pulls the seatback lock. Find the end of that and push it (and the thing it pulls) forwards and the setback will unlock.

Lubricate the moving parts and use them regularly and it will stick less.

Also there is another post with proper tech detail on here somewhere as I read it a few weeks ago...
