go to: Home

so many people seem to want these thought i would let you all know

New seals sound good, website....leaves a lot to be desired.

Every paragraph is a seperate link to the same ebay auction. And the only picture is so low quality you can't even see the seals. Not the most professional looking. Changing those should make it better.

Good luck with them. New versions of out-of-production parts is always welcome. :)

Hi

please dont take me as a quick spammer out to make a few quid. I have owned and loved my range rover classic for last 15 years in that time helped and been helped as a member of various range rover sites./forums

rebuilding my basic efi and up specking inc. putting on abs / traction control, lse memory seats, welding all the usual weak areas, respraying, putting on air con, designing and building my own half air suspension kit amongst numerous electrical problem solving and additions[improving central locking, adding numerous individually designed electronic anti theft systems]- and any of this i have happily shared with any forum member that needed assistance.

these seals arent to make me much in the way of money but it was obvious to me that as they perished cars would be taken off the road and broken for this part- that would be a crime.

hence my post- anyone who knows this area of seals will appreciate the not so insignificant costs for tooling and minimum runs and this is about my love for a car that is still in my view the greatest all rounder ever built and one of the 10 best cars ever made.

if i can assist any members please contact me on any rrc issue and i will try to help
thanks for reading

And yet your first ever post on the biggest Land Rover Forum was indeed spam, looks like you're trying to help yourself, oh well each to their own

From the way things are at the moment, it certainly seems that Defender owners could do with some of those. :(

You fitted traction control and your own air suspension to your classic? Were those difficult?

hi

no to be honest the air suspension is a combination of potentiometers, valves and an easy computer program that detects the cars position based on the electrical signal. ive not used any land rover bits as i was unsure of their reliability and also wanted to keep coils not full air suspension-it levels the car and with a simple r/c switch i can gain about 2 inches of ride height but if it fails ive still got coil springs for a comfortable ride home.

traction control is just off another vehicle wired into my classic loom, and obv. traction control works off exactly the same system as abs but sort of in reverse mode, mechanical alterations made such as brake pipes etc but mainly electrical- as adapted it work on all 4 wheels not just rear as rrc one does. better off road with this than when had lockers front and back but with t/c need centre locking diff or wheels will just lock in sequence making you go nowhere.

really loved doing the above on the car-great fun

dont want to go into details of anti theft s ive developed and if someone wants to steal not much can be done but atleast on mine they are in for a few shocking and noisy surpries even if they try to push it or hoist it away but as i say cant make them totally secure
