Rear plate size?

Any idea guys. Found plenty of threads about plate lights but not about size.

Only cos I want to order the right size for my personal reg.

Freelander 1 or 2?

they have to be the regular size and so do the letters and numbers you can not have words made up that's the law

I know that about the letters etc. I just know the rear plates are not a regular size on the freelander. I don't physically have one in my possession to measure it.

My rear number plate is 300mm wide and 220mm high.

i just go to the parts shop and ask for a square rear number plate even tho its not square its what there known as up here

I think unless you have a Land Rover Surround,
designed for the size Sing said above,
you can also fit 11"x8"

Cheers guys. Can get them cheaper online so I'll look there rather than tell em in the shop.

make sure they have the BS AU marking and who made the plate on it or it's an MOT fail

nothing in the test manual to say this is a fail,i think it used to be until some legal wrangle and then it was dropped from what i remember

I heard it was a requirement but to be honest, my friendly MOT tested is pretty relaxed about it as long as the lettering is ok.

is still a legal requirement to have the post code and company on the bottom of the plate of who made it up

the only reason a say is when i went to fist take mine in for an mot they asked me to change it before the mot as it was plain and didnt have the company or post code on the bottom

but that was 3 years ago and dont know if that still applies

i think your right legal wise as to have one made you need proof of ownership, but not an mot failure now

Mine have nothing on them none of my plates ever have.

when I've needed on in the past I just painted a bit of plate Bright yellow and stuck some black sticky lettering on it..

When I moved the pikey wagon from Hull to yeovil It had a bit of PVC window board stuck in the window, with the 90's reg number scribbled on with a marker pen. & when I moved it up here Last month Just sprayed the 110's reg number. onto the back of the caravan. ran like fook anorl..

lol to my van away kids fell ill had to get parents to pick up kids went back for van, racing back from shaftesbury in early hours went threw speed camera (40mph stretch) doing about 70 mph. Well ****ed off until the next trip and realised the number plate on van was from a car i had scrapped 2 years ago. Just forgot to change it
