With the central locking on the car only opening the front door with the first key press. Someone forgot and tried to open the rear door. They pulled the handle and now when i try to open the door i can feel it trying to bite but then seems to bounce over whatever it is that activates it. I've had the handle off, but not sure how it's supposed to look. By that i mean i don't know if it's a bit broken off the handle or something internally. Can't seem to find a good pic of the handle. Does anybody know how this should look so i can check it against my own? Don't want to buy a handle to find it's a perm internally.

It's not the handle but could be the lock assembly. It sounds like it's stuck in the locked position. Does the internal handle work?

What you need to do is operate the outside handle while looking to see if the rod is moving. If it is then it is likely to be a problem with the lock, but if the rod doesn't move, then the handle is ar fault.

Turns out it was the internal barrel that rotates the lock. this has a small lug that the plastic handle pulls on to rotate it. the lug had broken off so the handle was just slipping by it. quick fix for now I made up a plate to extend the handle and drilled and tapped the handle to take the extended plate. works fine now with only needing to push the handle back in after opening from the outside due to the barrel being slightly over rotated
