Hi

I have just taken delivery of a 2002 Frelander TD4 5 Door and the first thing I want to do to it is change the tatty old number plates for some shiny new GB ones. I have ordered the plates but have a questions about fixings.

The front plate is held on by screws so no problem. The rear plate is stuck on which I don't like. I want to screw the new rear plate on. My question is what fixings are there under the plate? I don't want to take it off until I am ready to fit but don't want to buy screws or bolts I don't need!

I have tried looking for pics on the net but to no avail. Can anyone advise?

i use double sided window tape as used in the glazing trade (where i work)
its 5mm thick.
and its very very strong. it has to be as it sticks glass ito plastic window frames.
i find it better than the crap they sell at halfords.

If yer want to screw it on, you'll need screws. If yer want to bolt it on, you'll need bolts.

Hope this helps.

Thanks HybridGirl - You know that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit don't you and that god doesn't like smart arses?? ;-)

And, as for you MatHatMan - Nothing like making me feel good about my new toy!!

Anyway, I've had it for 48 hours now and all is well - This is a much better record than my previous car (Nissan X-Trail). In the two months I owned it, it spent three weeks with the dealer resolving no less than 14 faults until, eventually, I got my money back.

I was going to buy a Freelander before I bought the X-Trail but was swayed by promises of Jap "reliability"... Plus it was much noisier and much slower than the Freelander!!

Cheers guys

lol - horses fur courses - i musta bought yours after it was fixed then :)

as fur sarcasm - yu will learn - hb was bein gentle with ya coz she is a lady.

It's true, my X-Trail was a diesel and it was rubbish. Better on paper than a TD4 but horrible to drive in real life. Didn't help that mine was built on a bank holiday Friday by a blind man with no thumbs...
