Rear Number Plate Lamp

Evening Folks,

Was replacing the bulbs to the 2004 this afternoon and a couple of issues.

1. The plastic bulb holder for the 501 was badly corroded and beyond saving , does anyone have a part number for this or what it’s even called.

2. The screw that goes through the lens and housing were & catches a fixing was also corroded and snapped , I think they are Spire Clasps ? Again if anyone know what size they are would be much appreciated.

Read a lot about LED’s etc but neighbour wants to keep it original.

A scrap yard is probably your best bet.

I replaced mine with a full LED panel version, which was well worth the money. It cost under half the original part, and was coated against corrosion so should last years.

I was so impressed I've gone for LED on my FL2 too, again from Powerful UK.

I bought an led replacement unit from ebay, it was a tight fit and one of the retaining screws didnt quite line up but it got through the mot. I cant remember how much it cost but it was definately cheap.

The center boot lid brake light on my son's Tomcat went the same way as these lights - and they are rarer than rocking horse pooh.

He got a 'generic' LED lamp unit and we had to fit/secure it in the surround, but it did the job.
