Rear multileaf springs

Hi, I’m restoring a series 3 LWB Station wagon. It’s totally striped down now and a new chassis has arrived. I will need to order new springs and shockers soon so I would be interested to know how you have got on with the GME Springs? I’m a complete Landrover novice so every step is a learning curve for me. I’m currently in the process of replacing all the wheel hub bearings and the front swivels which I ordered from Paddocks but am finding it to be a bit of a minefield. Considering ordering Jones Springs but would grateful for options and suggestions. I have though decided to stay original and fit leaf springs rather than parabolics.
Thanks
Robin

I've got the standard multileaf GME springs on a 1974 88". Made in Sheffield. I like them, very nice supple ride, everything seemed good quality. They came with spring bushes already mounted. A world away from seized and rusted old springs.

I use them with Girling Authentic Classic dampers. They were slightly difficult to get in place as they are quite "springy" but once in place the car sits fine.

The part numbers of the L and R front springs are definitely different, and the springs are stencilled in white paint with the Land Rover part nos following the words "REF NO" as well as the GME part number starting with "LS". To ensure each was on the correct side I used this number to refer to the parts manual as it states which side is which.

GME is/has been a supplier to Jaguar Land Rover, Morgan Cars, and the MOD.

Sources:

GME's LinkedIn page states: "We are a key supplier to the MOD,the OEM's, & Aftermarket for the supply of leaf springs & U-bolts". https://www.linkedin.com/in/gme-springs-2b675887/?originalSubdomain=uk

I can't find the page where it said GME supplies Jaguar Land Rover, but I've definitely seen it.

I called the helpline to ask a question, great customer service, very helpful.

Mine came from gdiproducts, a seller on eBay.

Thanks for that. I’ll look into them.
