can anyone here please tell me if they have replaced the rear engine mount tie bar?, and what they did to do so please.
it looks simple enough to look at, as in its only two bolts?
is it a simple case of removing sump cover, taking the engine weight on a jack and then swapping the parts over.
thanks for any help.

TBH I don't think you need to support the engine as its only a damper affair - the top mounts support the weight of the engine. It just has a bolt on the subframe and another on the IRD bracket. It should come off quite easily if I remember right.

I have done it on my old one but I am sure it is more than 2 bolts possibly it could be three get a jack under it with a piece of wood between the jack and sump as the top engine mounts will give a bit I remember using a crow bar to pull the engine into place.

Easy job. 2 bolts to remove. No need to jack the engine as weight is taken by the end mounts. Replace with polyurethane for longer life ;)

thanks for the reply. il look into it and change the mounts on the weekend when im back home. my only other question is since i took the prop off it showed how weak the rear mount was so the engine was swaying. but also the hydro mount area is creaking like hell since. is it hard to replace that mount as well. im hoping the rear mount is gonna stop the noise but the hydramount seems cheap enough but looks like a hard job. cheers

Thanks for putting that link up for the powerflex bush, at 30 quid that's more like it :)

You're welcome ;)
I had two of those in my V6. One on the lower tie bar, the other on the upper tie bar.
It makes a massive difference to the location of the power unit. Feels better under braking too.
