Rear light clusters ???

I have just fitted some older style light clusters to my motor and now my trailer light is coming on when i indicate does anyone know if there is a older style relay or anything that can fix the prob or am i stuck with it

check your earth to your trailer before replacing the cluster again.

One side of mine does the same and the other is fine. they will allways flash once to start then should go off. They are looking at the resistance, if there is a trailer there will be more resistance so the light will light. check the bulbs are the correct rating.

I modified mine and it did the same, as James says its looking it the resistance, what you have done in effect is added the trailer lights to your vehicle. I got the relay from dealers, (only place I could get one from), at a cost of £25.

If I remember rightly you need to ask for an indicator conversion kit relay, or something like that.

you can wire them up with bog standard relays, if you have a load lying about as i did. i can send you more details if you like

The best way to stop the flashing trailer light on the dash from annoying you is to adjust the steering column down about half way which puts the light behind the rim of the steering wheel so you cant see it

Both had cracks in so i thought i would opt for some clear ones insted of sticking with the orange type
