rear hub o-ring disco 2

Evening all, i have treated myself to a disco 2. Its the V8 and has gas. I bought it with a good few known problems and now working through them.

I have changed one of the rear hubs but have forgotten to put the o-ring back on. What will the cause? should i put it back on as a matter of urgency?

a leak ,yes fit it,if it doesnt leak check axle oil level

yep, it leaked!! Changed the seal the next evening. Its amazing how quick you become after doing something a couple of times, i manged to change the rear hub in 25mins!!
