So, since I plan to replace hard roof with canvas I need a half door at the rear.
I think a half door that hinges the same way as the full door will make rear access easier. The drop down is presumably more for pickup style?
So anyone done this and has a recommendation for which door to buy. I see Craddocks do one but it's got lock, hinges etc. and presumably I don't need most of that if I use the hardware off my full door? I see a cheaper bare door on ebay that looks pretty well designed, although the welding looks a bit heavy. OK on a series I guess!
I was planning a big resto and have just bought a big clarkes temporary garage to make a start but the weather is nice so I'm thinking I may just paint it, take the roof off and use it for the summer, then start resto in Autumn.
I have to take a view on whether to blag an MOT exemption first...due to no functioning regional Gov't at the time, the new 40 year rule wasn't introduced here in N.Ireland and still hasn't been. In process apparently. I've heard though that some post offices will take the MOT exemption form and V5 and tax the vehicle so maybe that's enough...or might I not be insured...?
