Hi,

Quick question on how the rear fog light switch works... As it is a momentary switch but turns the lights on and off as though it's a toggle,

I'm guessing it's a type of latching relay but normally you need a seperate switch to turn it off again,

I'm only asking because I have a spare one laying around and I would like to use it as my front fog light switch

Thanks

The switch provides a momentary earth path that is monitered by the CCU to control the fog light relay earth.

You could use a defender rear fog light ecu to control the front fogs and use your existing switch.

Wiring would be similar to the defender install so you'll a copy of a rave wiring diagram for a 1998MY on defender

I remember some years ago speaking to the chap who owns the MOT station I use - he was moaning buckets as he had a early Freelander in for it's first MOT and it failed but only on the rear fog light not working - thinking it was a switch or a bulb he quoted £50 to fix it.... of course the faulty CCU cost a lot more!
