Hi All, looking for help, have fitted a Disco 300tdi door to my 200tdi and need some help with the wiring. I am only interested in coupling up the No. plate lights, wiper and heated rear window, so I require the wire colour codes for those items for both doors. I believe I am correct in thinking the primary earth wire is Black and the rear sidelights are Red/Black. Does the Red/Black continue into the door for the No. plate lights and what are the colours for the heater and wiper? I do not want to strip the door panel at this stage if I don’t have to so answers appreciated – thanks.

Red/Black (RB) is number plate and sidelight and trailer socket sidelight.

Green/Purple (GP) is stop lights.

Red/Yellow (RY) is fog lights

Heated Rear Window is (NP) Brown Purple

These are for the 300TDi

Hi Peter.
I have now got the No. Plate lights working but I am still stuck with the rear wiper motor. I have a Haynes manual for the 200tdi but the actual wires for the rear door do not match for the wiper as per a 92 disco. The rear screen heater and washer are working so it is just the wiper motor. The Haynes manual refers to a Light-Green/Grey and Brown to the wiper with black earth as per norm but I have no corresponding wires in the 300dti door.
I have also been working on the front doors today (also salvaged from 300 tdi- 96 Disco as per the rear door) and have got the window winders working but have got stumped by the ‘trigger’ wiring in the driver’s door for the central locking. I have a Brown/Pink wire, on both front door supply on the 200dti loom which does not match up with any wiring in the door.
Much appreciate any help
Martin

Two schematics attached.

Remember that on a 300 the Multi Function Unit controls the wipers a 200 does not have a MFU.
Also the 300 has a seperate central locking ECU to provide a signal wires for remote central locking, interfaced with the alarm ECU, which the Haynes manual or schematics above do not show a 200 does not have one and its combined within the alarm ECU. As for a standard CL a perminant 12v and earth/ground is all you need at the drivers door actuator (master).

Therefore you will have to modifiy wiring to suit as required.
