P38A Rear door question

I have been searching for a reason why my rear N/S door doesn't register an open signal or turn on the lights. I have checked the wiring in the door (mechanically so far) and all seems in good nick. I have read many posts regarding the door latch assy but I haven't as yet found any note of what appears to be a sensor attached to the shut face of the door, I am assuming that this must be a proximity switch of some sort. Does any one know the part number if this is the sensor that monitors the door. I have tried the O/S door and it appears that the door open signal appears when this "switch" leaves the proximity of the door shut face.

Hi, I think its the latch, as the door registers "open" if the latch is not closed by shutting the door ie if its ajar. I believe also you can fool it by closing it on a screwdriver.

As said, if you open door and use a screwdriver to close latch fully then open it fully it should work, if not fault on door ajar switch in latch.

It's a micro switch in the latch assembly.
