Was sat in the back of the car this morning and noticed that the rear door central locking isn’t working properly.

It locks perfectly every time, but when I press unlock it is generally only moving the little latch on the inside about 2/3 of the way it needs to to unlock it. By the latch I mean the small lever you can see moving up and down on the inside.

Has anyone else experienced and fixed this problem? Is it simply a case of something needing lubricating?

Thanks

Most of the locking mechanisms are designed to run clean and dry, as many lubricants sieze up with dust and other built up debris.
Just styrip it down, clean a;ll the bits and reassemble dry.
That should solve your problem, as it will either be that or the solenoid isn't working properly, in which case take it out, clean and test it and if it's OK, stick it back and try again.

When you say strip it down do you mean the lock itself or the solenoid? I suspect given that the lever still moves it is probably a solenoid problem...

Fairly easy I assume to remove the door card and get at it all? :)

Well I have found a solution until this makes it to the top of the list of problems.

Basically the door locks perfectly, it’s only an issue unlocking, if I unlock the latch isn’t coming al the way down, but if I give the outside of the door a quick bang it all falls into place lol... literally fix with a hammer.

If you have movement, it could be a poor earth that is preventing the full solenoid stroke.
The door cards are easily removed with care.
If you don't have the tool, you can use a couple of old, blunt knives slipped each side of the card clips and lever each one out in turn.
That will giove you access to the innards.
