rear door actuator???

hi all,i have just brought a 1995 300tdi auto discovery 1,its a nice example with just over 100,000 on the clock,but i have already come across a probolem,the n/s rear door wont unlock with the central locking,now ino the p38's have actuators,but im not so sure with the disco 1's,i presume they do as they have central locking too,are they a pain to change,and do they need programing to the landy?

Any input much appriciated, tom

Make sure it's the actuator and not just a broken door spring. Very small circular looking spring in the door mechanism that lifts the latch .. one end snaps. Very easy to find on ebay, a right beeatch to fit ... Not hard to do at all, just very, very fiddly ..

No its not a pain to change, just two screws hold them to a mounting plate which is held to the door by four screws.
They don't need any programing.
Try readjusting the actuators mounting plate first.

okie dokie,cheers guy much appriciated,when i get a spare 5 mins,i will whip the door card off and have a look at it,hopefully just the spring!

cheers for all the input and replys guys,i havent had time to look at it yet,ino its terrible,but i have noticed that it wont open atall,i cant pull the latch up or anything,is this another probolem? the reason i ask is,its failed to open a few times before and then it was fine,and now its just stopped completely? witch is why i first thought the actuator! :/
