1979 Santana 109 with Rover rear axle. I replaced my rear piñon seal and flange. I torqued to 85 lb ft based on the green bible. The flange turns but is tight. I just want to make sure I didn’t over tighten. Bearings feel fine, it’s just takes a decent effort to turn it. The nut came loose much easier than I expected. I didn’t really even need a bar to loosen it.

The whole drive train of the axle is quit heavy to get moving and you will have the drag of tight new seal's.
You have done it up to correct torque and every thing is smooth turning so should be good.
If you want have a check again after say 200 miles. [ with prop off ]
