being under the car today to stop my exhaust from blowing where the hanger is on the rear box and noticed

the rear diff is leaking its drips from the back plate area but its all wet from front seal

my question is does anyone no whats needed to replace the seal and no what size socket it is for the diff

will be ordering a diff seal and some silicone sealant for the back plate just dnt want to start to find i dnt have the right size sockets for the job

Mine did the same, and I was unable to find a new seal, if you do find one, please post a link. :) Ended up tightining them in sequence ever so slightly, and my leak stopped.

you can use old one if you lengthen it a few thou by hitting it around the bulge over a suitable steel shaft ,just ensure pinion has preload so isnt loose but not to stiff to turn easliy

not a hard job at all mate

jack the back end up... undo the bolts on the arms at the subframe and using my feet i pushed the wheel out just enough for the driveshaft to clear

then using a prybar and a hammer i knocked the old seal off

then using a hammer and a 3/8 long extension bar i slowly and evenly knocked the new seal into place

diff oil will leak so have something to catch it
