While I was playing in the snow under car today spotted what appears to be start of a leak from front of rear diff:mad: Very slight weep, went to top up but no aparent change in fluid level and showing as a damp stain along length of bottom of diff rather than a proper landrover type leak.

Question is, from your experience is this likely to.........

1. (Best option for me)....stay as it is and need a bit of monitoring of fluid level.

2. Last till weather improves and need oil seal replacing

3. Last till weather improves, need oil seal, thrower, bearing etc

4. Likely to go tits up very fast and need me to wallow round in snow or sell a vital organ & pay extortionate amount to get job done professionally.

Also noticed there are a couple of special tools for job:eek: LRT-51-003 and LRT-51-010...are they really needed??? or can you get round with a bit of common and inginuity??

Cheers All
