Hi all.
I was wondering what would happen to the diff if anything if you used solid mounts. After all in regular landrovers the diff is encased in a axle, and the cv joints would act as a axle. This would stop a lot of problems with the front bearing wearing when the front mount fails and odd bangs and clanks!!
Did not find anything on solid mounts in search.
Feel free to shoot me down in flames.

I think you would get more trouble with solid fixings than with bearing that takes an hour to change every 60,000miles!

Try not to compare a Freelander with a Defender too closely - they are very differen beasts. However, the RR and Disco 3 have more similar set ups - neither have live beam axles.

Cheers
