Can these 3 mountings be fitted reasonably easy without having to disconnct the drive shafts or prop shaft ?
Yes did mine without disturbing the propshaft or rear subframe.
Once the rear r.h. mount (Drivers side) and the centre bolt for the front mount are removed, there is enough room to remove the front mount. Fiddly but manouvre the mount and you will find it will come out. Just remember how you got it out and reverse the exercise to refit.
I decided to replace mine with polybushes...expensive compared to original design, but should last the life of the car.
I couldn't be arsed taking the old bushes down to the local garage to get them pressed out so removed them myself. This is how I did it........
Cut through the "Webs" on the old rubber bushes-this will allow the centre steel tube to drop out.
Using a normal hacksaw, lubricated with a drop of oil to stop the blade dragging whilst cutting through the remaining rubber, cut through the outer steel shell carefully trying not to cut into the bore of the aluminium bracket. Remove the hacksaw and the old bush will tap out easily.
Clean the bore of the bracket with a wire brush/emery cloth, if you have nicked the bore whilst cutting, don't worry, just remove any sharp corners, it will be ok.
Give the bore of the bracket a smear of oil and simply press the polybush in using a vice-oil has no detrimental reaction with polybushes, unlike rubber.
*Make sure that you insert the polybush the right way round-make a note of which side of the bracket the long part of the bush is located !!!
There is a place in Rhyl N. Wales that supplies Diff. mount Polybushes for the F/L
