rear diff leaking

Hi guys my 300tdi disco has started leaking from the rear diff on the side where the filler plug is. Is it as simple as replacing a gasket? If so howith does it come off?

there is no gasket just rtv silicone sealant ,could be porous case ie corroded ,to remove diff pull out both half shafts and undo 10 diff securing nuts (9/16 th socket size)may need effort to break sealant

If it the back side of the diff it sounds like the diff pan is pouroous.chemical metal it.or sealant.but itl need a full diff pan welding in.
