Do reverse lights work?
Have you measured voltage from green brown to car metalwork?
Worth testing meter or test lamp on a battery.
My circuits show green brown for reverse lamps too.

The A panel is fairly robust, don't quote me !!
Remove door seal and try to lever near clip. A long plastic trim tool is useful.
Glad you sorted the power, always worth checking to the vehicle metalwork as this highlights a bad ground connection, which is what you had.
