Recently broke my rear off side bumper light lens. New cluster purchased and fitted.
Been looking on ebay for a guard to put over both o / side and n / side clusters. I found some but does anyone out there know how they work?
As from what I have found none of them have anything that covers the actual plastic lens i.e. a metal cage, and the majority are made of plastic any way.
Are you allowed to use a smaller gauge steel mesh as used on defenders rear lights?
Any ideas out there please?

The factory light guards are mostly cosmetic, but will offer a small amount of protection from impacts with brush and brambles when off road. They won't do much to protect the lights from impacts with harder objects like walls, posts or other vehicles.

There's nothing wrong with making your own guards, as long as they don't affect the way the lights operate.
