I'm about to order new brake pads for my ex Mod 110. It has a Salisbury rear axle with discs. It's a late 93 car. Now my question is - When searching for brake pads I found post 94 and pre. I'm not sure if the MoD swapped out the rear axle at any time in it's Army life but I suspect it has been. The retaining clips are the pin types with springs. Are the pads different? Some adverts list 80's through to much later as the same pad.

Can anyone help me in the right direct for the brake pads? Also the pads are really low so there's a long way to push these pistons back. Are these rear pads normally ok to change or is there often some kind of nightmare with something that should be fairly simple? Any guidance would be great before I tackle this.

Thanks

So I worked out that all rear 110 salisbury axles with disc brakes use the same pads. I ordered new pads, new pins and new springs. The pins are britpart and the pads are allmakes but made by mintex. I also ordered a tool to push back the pistons but that didn't arrive in time (thanks a lot Yodel!!) so ended up using gclamps to push back. I also cleaned up the pistons as good as I good with brake cleaner and a tooth brush to try and stop debris going in. I've got to say that the old pads were low! Just taken it for a drive and it seems to be braking in a straight line. No squealing yet and no sticking calipers. Took about 20 mins per side to carefully do. So all in less than an hour and about £25 spent to replace my rear pads.
