Not 12 sided as such as it is technically a bihex.

in theory but it doesnt work in practice, its very easy to round a bihex headed bolt less so with a hex headed bolt

I suppose what works well when new might not work so well when years of rust have altered the profile.

Oh you mean that one. I assume you mean for a socket to fit it....or do you mean the thread size?

52mm. is the socket size.

For the cost of these bolts I always replace them as it's always a safer practice if something goes wrong.

Thanks neilly as it was the socket size I needed and thanks Mulcaster1 as I will replace them while its all in bits.

I have nearly 40 years of old bolt problems so I always exchange the small details. Remember the old saying fail to prepare is like preparing to fail!! Hope all is going well with it all anyway
