REAR BEARING ADJ , oil seal

Hi DEF 90 300tdi just done the rear seals + bearings , Now i will want to adjust the bearings once its all settled in . Thing is mine are the shaft /drive flange complete , so to adjust , check , i need to pull the shafts out ., Do i need to replace the smaller inner stub axle seal that runs on the shaft every'time i pull the shaft or will it be ok .

If set up right when fitted why do you need to 'adjust the bearings'?

No the shaft seals are fine and will handle a great many ins and outs as long as you mind the lip on the splines of the shaft as they can be sharp.

Usually once set up right they should be good for a long time, I run mine in oil as I'm old fashioned but it's usually poorly set up bearings that shred themselves whether grease or oil lubed.
