Rear Axle Oil Leak

Came to MOT the Landy yesterday and the rear nearside brakes are covered in EP oil that appears to have leaked out of the axle.

Whats this likely to be?

It is most probably the hub oil seals, and depending which model you have, you will have either one or two!

Simple job to replace them ... and cheap if you do it yourself!

OK, I thought it might be something along those lines! I will order some up and swap them out.

Just a quick update, the leak was indeed the hub oil seal failing. However it was caused by the half shaft end being so grooved that it just ripped the seal apart. So one new half shaft and a seal later and its sorted. Only cost me £80 to do the lot so not too horrible. Sorted the track rod end and a couple of other minor things out at the same time.
