Rear axle drum to disc conversion.

As part of my 1992 90 200 tdi rebuild I am toying with the idea of changing the axle the rear axle from drum to disc brakes. Do I buy a complete axle and if so which vehicle / model will fit? I have heard that you can just buy all the parts and fit them to the existing axle? If so would it be the same length etc once complete? Which method would be the best and does it affect the servo or brake cylinder? Thanks

An axle off a disco 1 with a four bolt flange or a later defender will be a straight fit and won't affect anything.
