Hello all , while I'm happy enough with our discovery 3 the jobs do seems to keep coming as I'm sure you all well know , anyway to get to my current little problem I replaced rear drivers sway bar and rear droplinks , however on taking off drivers side rear droplink I noticed the anti roll bar itself was badly scored from obviously a previous removal of a droplink , I welded along the gouged part but im now paranoid it will snap after reading about stressed steel and my welding is crap , so finally my question!!! is getting the rear anti roll bar out of my discovery 3 for replacement a total pain or are landrover going to finally give me a break and say its a few bolts and a doddle ??? And il take this opportunity to wish you all a happy Christmas and safe motoring .

Dont worry about it, the part thats damaged wont be the part thats doing all the twisting so should not be a fail point
They are a right toss to cut the old drop link out, i used a 4 inch grinder with guard removed to improve access, I would hazard a guess to change an arb with body on would be a nightmare if it is even possible

OK thanks for that lynall , I didn't study the bars securing points was hoping it might be easier to get out, I suppose in that case I can learn to live with it and keep an occasional eye on it, I was lucky that the droplinks I was getting off weren't too rusted but access really bad for the droplinks if they were rusted out , il leave the main bar where it is for now , thanks

Not easy, it's a body lift job.

Just fit a replacement drop link, and don't worry about it. ;)
