I have noticed quite a big patch of what I have not checked yet if it's oil or diesel, but looks thicker than diesel... I should have taken a pic of leak, there are drip marks on what looks like a petrol tank cover behind (?) rear axle 300tdi CSW. Will get more pics tomorrow. I have had a knock for a while from exhaust on turning engine off
Really leaky rear end - pic any ideas?

The location would suggest diesel, although be careful, just becasue it is dripping form there does not always mean it is coming form there. Currently my tow bar drips and leaves a patch on the ground, but the oil is blown onto it from the leaking transfer box while driving. it must collect more on it than the box itself as the patch it leave is larger than the one from the box!

First thing a Land Rover owner should do when identifying leaks is stick your finger into it and sniff! If it was oil back there I would be surprised.
Hopefully you don't have a "petrol tank" as it is a 300tdi! The leak may be from the top as there are breathers and the sender and at this age the various gaskets etc. could be hard, it can then pool on the top and pour down. Might also be a split tank but I would not expect that, these tanks are solid which makes me think it really is one of the many pipe connections.
I had a nasty diesel leak that would drip. Sure as hell could smell it in the morning. Just nipped up the hose clips and it’s been perfect ever since. It was the first time I really filled it up. And going by the miles on the MOT I don’t think it had been doing many long journeys for a while.

Did you brim the tank on last fill? Try running with bare minimum to see if its a leak high up on the tank. Try working out what it is first.
yep lol. She’s going on a long trip soon so will see, it seems to stop at some point after stopping tho which is weird?
took another pic, the smaller puddle is tge new fresh one after a short journey and can see where the dripping is coming from at front edge of tank carrier / protector
Have you checked the breather? Mine appeared to be coming from anywhere when I was looking at the tank cover. Any leak will be impossible to trace by looking at the output once it hits a panel. Start high up and follow the fuel system. Anything that looks dodgy or can be adjusted check it against manuals, etc. Running leaks can be from pressure, vibration, heat, and other stuff,!so examine pipes and joints as vibration and pressure both will find a weakness in any fluid system.
