Apart from disconnecting the battery and unplugging the ECU,is there
anything else that one would fully recommend unplugging/disconnecting prior to commencement of mig welding to the chassis.

I don't want to fry/damage anything. I understand that these vehicles are full of elctronic sensors etc.

Your help appreciated.

There are additional ecu's that might be a good idea to disconnect as well but other than that you'll be fine. The BCU and SLABS are important ecu's.

Thanks for the reply,but where abouts are the BCU and SLABS that you refer to located?
 
When I did weldin to my disco 2 ass end I did as you said. Engine ecu and battery. I have had no problems. Touch wood.

From memory they are behind front passenger footwell kick panel.
