One of the possibilities I've been researching is an adaptation of the 'TELMA' retarder, which is well tried and proven eddy current technology in use on large vehicles for years. Cheers .Dann...

Thanks dan & hatman , looks like all some modified cuopling is going to do is provide a bit of 4x4 when needed to get out of some crud !!. For extended driving the problem of drivetrain windup is going to a seperate issue and the only thing that might fix that is free wheeling hubs , getting to be a bit of an engineering nightmare. Anyway will keep plugen along with it.
