It's not got an engine ecu so no to remap. Can be tweaked though.

Doubt it would work on a 19j on whatever engine he had.The 2,5 TDS (BMW M51 engine ) can be easily remapped to 170 Hp. I have the eeproms for itVery easy to put in.
You can tweak the 300tdi easy enough, youtube/google will show you.
Takes less than 5 minutes to do, dont be greedy just a little tweak is all that is needed.
1/4 turn in on diaphragm and 1/4 turn in on fuel screw.
