Re fitting disco 2 gearbox

I am trying to refit my 2003 53 disco manual gearbox, get it close but it gets fouled by the insulation around the bell housing, looking into the bell housing the shaft is about half a shaft away from the end of the clutch fingers
Anyone got any suggestions?:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Fook the padding off ...that's how I did mine ...squeeze it back up later. Or slightly tip the front of the engine up so it slightly lowers the flywheel end ... There a struggle some times just keep at it it will go in
