Basically some feedback to earlier threads over the xmas period

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL YA LANDY FANS - AND TO YOU CHARLSEY:D

Disco 2 back from the coolant loss investigation, seems the water pump is leaking a little, the Garage pressurised the system to 10 bar, and found it was leaking. They still cannot confirm the Head Gasket is ok, but tey said they are 70% sure all is ok, and will know definately when pump is replaced next week.

Had EGR removed, and Hiclones fitted and boy she goes like stink now, hope the economy returns.

Was told by TERRAIN VEHICLES, in Bexill Road, St leonards that the EGR was jammed open with emulsified oil'ish substance there, was tested and he is certain it was'nt coolant, but just condensation.

Thanks for everybodys advice over xmas, will keep you all informed about MPG, just filled up with diesel, £40 @ £1.06 a litre. will give you the figures next week

WHAT ???? Landy Fans AND me? Do I not qualify as a landy fan? Sob ......

Pity about the hiclones ... she'll go even better when you take them out. You made the mistake of doing two mods at the same time. You have no idea what each is contributing, or that one of them is subtracting!

Sorry Charlsey, I wanted to seperate you beyond most as the depth, pleasant and helpful knowledge you give this website helps us all, and saves owners £1000's. Again, thank you.

I was actually thinking the same thing, maybe not a great idea to fit both mod's as which is helping me I am unsure.

HOWEVER!!!!!!!, I can report that I started with a full tank, and done 175miles and the needle has just started to move. I drive sensibly with cruise anyway as I am a dredded HGV Artic driver, but the MPG return already is so noticable.

My TD5 is a auto, and have always had th prob of not acheiving final drive till 50-55mph, but now its 45mph and a lot less revs on inclines, so again more fuel savings. The torque is unbelievable, like a new motor and am so chuffed.

For the EGR removal, Hiclones, and intercooler removal and clean it cost me £170 incl VAT, and should recover this cost within a month on fuel savings.

One happy Disco driver ere.

We love Uncle CharlesY! He's wunnerful. Am gonna leave him some kisses here an he can collect em later...

XXXXX;)

me done 270 miles so far, only 1/4 tank used, soooooooooo chuffed

If anyone wanted to lay the bet and pay the fuel if I win, I bet I could get my Disco TD5 to do EIGHT HUNDRED MILES on one tank of fuel.

I would use a 50-50 belnd of derv and BioD.

I really think it would be able to do it.
