Ayup,
The back door on my 90 is almost totally shot and it's going to need replacing. I don't mind paying £100 for a new door, but I'd rather keep that money and solve my self a problem.

The problem
My 90 is bright yellow, and I'm strugling to find metal paint that is a perfect match, or close enough not to notice.

The idea
I want to strip the aluminium panels off the steel frame, and then re-attach them to a new frame that I can weld up at school, or have done on the cheap. How easy is it (if possible at all) to remove the aluminium panels from the steel frame?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

you can get repair bits from paddocks, they are meant fer along the bottom of the frame but you can buy some and use them to pratically rebuild the whole door frame. as fer yer paint any auto paint shop should be able to mix you up 1/2 litre or so from a small sample

Cheers Slob! I'll ask my garage if they can match the paint and that door part might be worth a shot.

i rebuilt me door using three of them.. they are the same profile as the sides and bottom of the door so all you need do is cut to size and weld it together

...or, keep you eye on ebay. i got an old series door (solid) with "privacy" glass and full working lock (which is more than i had on my previous door) for 99p. i used the works van to pick it up to, so it did only cost me 99p. like slob said, get a match from any autopaint people...

99p!!! That's a steal Griff, how could you sleep that night? I bet the poor sod that sold you it didn't!

£8 in't bad for a whole bar of steel, so I might take that route and then re-clad the old aly.

Cheers
