After problems with batteries going flat, I think I've sourced the problem my wifi causing becm to wake up.
I have rebooted or powered up and reset everything on my 51 plate DHSE. Now is there a special order it should be re powered in as every time I do it I get different problems.
First time I repowered The sun roof would not work, it would some times open but not close until I did the lazy lock, but still had problems
Repowered again and it worked fine but a rear RH window would not work from the centre console, but worked fine from door button?
Third time all worked OK but car came up with gearbox and traction fault, and no power from engine ie. ran ok but would not rev fully.
Fourth reboot and everything reset all OK but again gearbox fault came on and no power. Pushed sport button and released, all power and full revs once again, except LH rear window not working on centre console but OK on door???
I guess I am rebooting OK negative first then positive on a fully charged battery
Any one any thoughts. Should I remove any fuses to reboot in a perticuler order?

thats very perculiar and i would suggest checking out the connections to earth, becm and beneath the fuse box. i'm too good with electrikery but ive never heard of a sequence to get power on.

alot of leccy problems on a p38 can be put down to the three things above and also knackered becm but i would look for any corrosion or burning on the above first!!

Hi

DO try to get to the bottom of the electrical fault, it may cause you expensive problems to, for example, the BECM, if there are dodgy earth's or dodgy connections.

How long do you leave between disconnecting and reconnecting the battery?
I have yet to see the inside of the BECM, but it may take some time for the voltage to drop to zero inside the unit. If you reconnect too quickly it is possible you might confuse the microprocessor in the BECM.
Looking at the LR jump start instuctions, I would be inclined to connect positive first, might be worth a try:D
