downloaded the rave cd last night but the only menu's that have anything in them is the special tools menu??????
for instance when i click on workshop nothin happens??? whats gone wrong?

Have you copied the iso file to a cd? mine wouldnt run properly until i copied the image file to a cdr then it was fine!

when you download it you don't actually download the PDF manual - you download the file that you then need to burn to a CD (using Roxio, NTI or any cd image burning software ) you can then access the manual on the CD with adobe acrobat or save the content of the disc to your hard drive & access it there

so the icon it left on my desktop, drag and copy that icon to a CDR??? when i was downlaoding it i save strait to my HD.????????

which image file? anychance of talking me through it?

right - here goes

if you've downloaded it you should have an ISO file about 600MB called 'rave001' (or 002 depending on vehicle) saved somewhere on you pooter

you need a cd burning program of some kind eg, NTI , Easy cd etc

insert blank CD into CD burner

if you double click on the ISO file it should automatically open in your burning software

click on the 'burn CD' or 'create CD' or 'burn image' (depending on software)

all the files will be copied onto the cd in a folder titled 'Rave (Discovery II _ Freelander '01)'
open this folder & double click on the application file 'RAVE' (with small 'green oval' landrover icon

this will automatically start Acrobat reader & open the manual ( should also place shortcut icon on your desktop )

JOB DONE !

Alternatively,

Use a free program call Daemon tools to mount the .iso image as if it were another drive that way you never have to burn to cd and it is available all the time.

see here

THE DAEMONS HOME

yeah but..., no but...... but only takes a coupla mins to burn cd & then just copy the files to your hard drive - runs quicker straight from hard drive instead of having to keep running the cd - i've got 1 on me desktop, 1 on me laptop & a couple of spare cd's

Horses for courses. :)

It's just some people have trouble burning .iso files and Daemon is a good alternative.

Both ways are equally valid :D
