rangie bobtail help

hi, ive recently caught up with an old friend of mine and hes clearing his all his old cars which he doesnt want anymore and when i saw a bobtail sitting at the back of his lot i got interested.

Ive got not knowledge on these at all (only owned p38's) the body looks in really good shape for an old W reg, but havent been able to get underneath it yet as there is much space. havent heard the engine turn over yet either. What im after is what are the main areas i should be looking at on these and is it worth the couple of hundred quid hes asking?

It all depends who bobtailed it and what they did to it in the process. As well as what engine it's got in it. No 2 people ever do exactly the same project.

really dont know alot about it didnt want to seem too interested as he'd probably put the price up as soon as i said i wanted it! i only had a quick look at it but will take a proper look this week. Was just looking for general tips as it does look like a bit of fun!
