love some advice on a problem I'm having, 2 weeks ago water pump gave upthe ghost and fan went through a coolant pipe dropping all the water but was in a traffic jam and pulled up as soon as possible .
On getting recovered I replaced water pump repaired pipe and replaced belts..
Now getting a little oil in header tank not alot but no water in oil at all no overheating problems, no white smoke in fact it's running cooler than before.. I was told it is most probably transmission oil and coming from the oil cooler could this be true.
Thanks Craig

Your leak is from a HP oil feed pipe into the water jacket. That will give oil in water. Water in sump is caused when pressurised coolant flows into a LP oil return.

It can be from any high pressure oil feed adjacent to a water gallery.
Was thinking that once the engine was stopped the water pressure would be greater than the oil pressure and force water back into the oil? No oil in water at all and doesn't look like I'm losing oil,
obviously can't check transmission oil as no dipstick???
Thanks again

If that was the case there would be oil in the water and water in the oil. You said you had oil in the header tank, make your mind up what you are reporting.
