Petrol or diesel? Luton or Lagos?

The fob needs syncing with the car. Unfortunately you can't do that with engine immobilised. You will have to enter EKA code to disable alarm then you can sync keys.

Have the same when battery has been disconnected. Mine is a later 4.6 HSE but refuses to re-synch the fobs by inserting key in the ignition like it should.
I have to inset key in drivers door lock, hold the lock button on the fob and turn key to the lock position and hold it there. The time varies from 5 seconds up tp 30 seconds but it does synch eventually.
Hope it works for you.

You need to enter the EKA code.

When the vehicles battery drains while the car is locked will lock you out.
It's programmed to do this as it thinks the car is being stolen by someone chopping at the wires. The car can't work out the battery is going flat.

thanks guys fantastic holding the button for maybe 30+ seconds indicators flashed and started first time.
Thanks again and to Mozz Smith for offering to talk on the phone.
Best wishes

I've ordered a new key for mine but after a bit of hacking and butchering and a quick dabble with a soldering iron i've got it flashing. Problem is if I hold either button down for more than ten seconds it stops working until you take the batteries out and put them back in again. Also the flash rate of the led alters after a second or two. Just wondering out of sheer morbid curiousity if this is normal behaviour of some keys and i'm trying to sync it wrong (Have to use EKA to start) or has it just Failed Under Continual Test? It's a 96 P38 4.6

I did note that the fob light flashing stopped long before the indicators flashed indicatiing success when the holding the button down for some 30 seconds.
