I've searched about on here and have found several posts covering people who do it and have done it in there discos but they all seem to say yes it can be done with a little fiddling but thats it, so i want to try and cover what needs to be done.

I've been down the the scrap yard to look at some range rover seats and have seen a set. (well tbh i was actually getting a fuse box for my 200 problems)

Now the rear seats seem to be a straight swap, no messing but the fronts are the problem i know the discos fasten from the bottom but the rangie fasten from the front and rear so what sort of mod can i do to make it fit...

and also the two white connectors in the pics are they for heated seats?

so would it be better to remove the entire seats and fabricate stands as like in the rangerover (Pic 3) or mod the existing 200tdi stand to have fasteners at the front and rear eg like a square frame that sits on top of the old 200tdi seat stand?

Regards

Wappy

I've found this and its very helpful

The links for a site not a forum hope that's ok?

Fitting Range Rover seats in a discovery

its a very good guide on how to do it and have give me the ideas i need but the seats are different from the ones i had listed in the pics.

Im guessing the two wires connectors are one heated and one the the motor? sorry im pretty vague on range rover details;)

EDIT:

I now know there manual seat as there is no motors underneath ;) still don't know that the white plugs are for?

Rather than double post (again) i'll add here.

============

the two connectors are for the heated back and heated seats and they need to connect into the standard AWR500030 Relay module for the heated seat (one for each seat) and then two switches (Again one for each seat) i've yet to find diags for these but i will have a warm ass by the time im done ;) and i'll hopefully have a full wright up plus pics when im done.

this sounds like a very good idea as P38 leather seats seem to be a lot cheaper and more available than Disco ones

200tdi and early 300tdi seats bolt in through the floor but later 300 tdi seats bolt in at the front and rear from around 95 on. I have a 94 300 tdi and the seats will not fit my 95 300 tdi at all.

Not sure if rangy Classic seats are a similar fitting but P38 seats would be nice

The link shows keeping the original seat frame and bolting the new seat to it using a piece of plate to make it wider. If you are looking to fit early disco seats into a later model or vice versa it could be worth trying the same method.

I found a link to another forum somewhere saying it is possible to fit p38 front seats but the rears would need a lot of work to make fit.
