Hi

Can anyone help my P38 has heater gauge problem.

When I have been travelling a couple of miles the heater gauge goes into red and puts red light on once this happens the engine cuts down to idle speed then within 10 minutes it goes back to normal.

Any suggestions welcome how I can correct this problem.

Thanks in advance

If it has water in the system then it would appear to be overheating, lots of things you can check, viscous coupling to the engine cooling fan for a start. If the top hose is getting rock hard when it's hot, could be head gasket or cracked head. Are you loosing water?

Plenty of threads about overheating, try a search.
