Hi all,
I have a 2000 W reg 4.6 I have changed the battery because it kept going dead, when I tried to start the car it justs keep turning over, the AA came out but could not get it going, the battery is again dead after 4 days for some reason, The computer that he plugged in to the car gave two codes, one is 1667 and the other is1672, he said they both are immobilised codes, how do I fix the car? does it have to go to the main dealer? and is it an expensive fix? He did not try to jump the car because there was plenty of life in the battery, he said there was no spark at the plugs, The car was fine until I changed the battery, thanks for any replies

p1667 p1672 are indeed remote codes takes 2 mins to fix but you need test book or sim i pay £40 for guy to come out and do mine. you may be able to get help if we new where you are?

If the code just needs reteaching, no problem but if the BECM has alarmed itself it's either a new one if you go to the Main Dealer at £800 ish but there are people who can unlock and disarm them for a fraction of the price on here..myself included. All the diagnostic codes mentioned are not used with the LR P38.
Dealers Test Book cannot unlock or disarm a BECM.
Either PM me or Andy.R if you need more info.

Hi there, you are not thatfar from me, do you have a contact number for the mobile guy??

Hi guys, is there anyone near to Crewe that knows how to sort out this problem I have with the car being immobilised, It would appear to be a straight forward job after reading the above replies.......many thanks

If it has just lost the code..5minute job.
If the Becm has gone into alarmed and lockout status, either new becm or get it cleared.
Normal diagnostics cannot reset the RF memory..only Rovacom/Autologic or Test Book (Dealer).
If the Becm is alarmed/lockout only Rovacom CPU software module can do it..not even Main Dealer Test Book.
There are people on here with Rovacom who can reset the code and there are a couple of people on here who can clear the Becm alarm status, myself included.
PM me if you can't get sorted locally

There is a company in Middlewich called Landranger,Go to Yell.com for the number, they have a few places in the area, think the workshop guys name is Terry?[middlewich] Know P38's inside out,and pretty reasonable.

Hi I spoke to Landranger, they say i can put the codes in via the key and drivers door lock, left right and so on, just charging battery up (brand new, but keeps dying) fingers crossed
